So, You're Remodeling Your Dining Room?
Did you recently move into a pre-owned home that had the exact floor plan you wanted? Perhaps it had a garden that was already beautifully landscaped, with maybe even a swimming pool. Your dream house, right? Except for the outdated kitchen with the unsightly floor. If you loved the house enough to buy it, but you also knew from the very beginning that you'd be totally redoing the kitchen, from selecting the cabinets to choosing wood flooring, here are some ideas that might help you to decorate an attractive and very useful room where you can enjoy time with your family and fronds.
The Floors - Tile floors would be a good choice, as would carpet that is designed for tough wear. However, have you thought about choosing hardwood floors? Not only would they be really beautiful, but they would add a classic look to your kitchen. If you want an elegant feeling in the kitchen, consider choosing dark wood. If you want a more casual look, think of choosing rustic wood floors. Hardwood floors might be a bit more expensive than tile or carpet, but like tile, they will last for a very long time. Wood floors are also very easy to care for. Simply go over them with a clean dust mop. If your hardwood floors need extra attention, just wipe them off with a slightly dampened mop that has a product on it that is designed especially for use on hardwood floors.
The Cabinets - There are certainly a lot of brand choices when it comes to buying your new kitchen cabinets. Wyndham, Shelby, and Kraftmaid are just a few good names that build excellent cabinetry that will not only be beautiful, but it will be designed in a way that will give you many years of service. If you selected dark hardwood floors, think of buying dark wooden cabinets, too. And, of course, if you selected a rustic look, think of purchasing kitchen cabinets that will complement the rustic style. Like hardwood floors, wood cabinets will be easy to care for. Use a gentle cleanser to wipe off sticky or soiled places, and if you select brass knobs, use a brass cleaner for the knobs.
Will you also be buying new countertops? If so, consider selecting granite ones that will go well with the cabinets you chose. For example, if you chose dark wood, consider lightening up the look of your kitchen by selecting a lighter color for your countertops. Tile would be a nice choice, too. For example, if you chose a Mexican pattern for your tile countertops, that would add interest to either a classic look or a rustic look.
From wood flooring to Kraftmaid cabinets, the ability to transform your dining room into something magnificent is in your hands.
